The coronavirus that was named shortly as covid 19 affects all over the world by its effects. This coronavirus started in China in the city of Wuhan which is the main place of selling animal meats.

On January 30, 2020, public health organizations announced its a medical emergency for international concern. Covid-19 is a large group of viruses and why they called it corona makes an interesting story.

By the appearance of coronavirus have some spikes around them and it seems like a crown. In the Latin language crown called Corona, That’s how this virus gets their name.

There are many types of viruses in the group of coronavirus that affects humans and animals. Usually, Covid-19 creates respiratory syndromes like the common cold and severe disease in the human body.

covid-19 have some previous versions of it those are:

1. SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome of coronavirus) was identified in China, 2003.
2.Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS) was identified in Saudi Arabia, 2012.
3.SARS-V2 identified in China, December 2019.

Coronavirus circulates in a range of animals but sometimes it can jump over from animals to humans that’s called Spillover. Spillover will happen when viruses get mutation or contact between humans and animals.

Disease getting transmission from person to person by coughing, talking, and sneezing. Apart from that, it can transmit by objects like money.

When we considering the incubation period Covid-19 exposure to symptoms will take an averagely of 5 to 6 days.

Most of the corona cases discovered the range of symptoms within 1 to 14 days. That means very mild symptoms to severe symptoms.

Covid-19 shows symptoms will deferent according to person to person. Some of the corona patients are asymptomatic.

Most of the cases recorded with mild symptoms are Fever, Fatigue, and respiratory symptoms like cough, sore throat, and shortness of breath.

In severe cases, pneumonia affects the organ that leads to organ failure and finally death.

Coronavirus affects severely older peoples and people who are underline medical problems like chronic respiratory disease, Obesity, Diabetes, High blood pressure, Heart disease, and Cancer.

How to diagnose Coronavirus

Corona can easily diagnose by a test call Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). This test can identify the genetic fingerprint of this virus.

Also, blood test – serology that can check the antibodies against the virus will show if you affected by the Coronavirus in the past. That means the previous infections.

According to World Health Organization, Medicine or the vaccine for Coronavirus still under investigations.

Steps to prevent from the coronavirus are :

  1. Covering nose and mouth with recommended mask (not every mask can protect you from the virus).
  2. Wash hands regularly with soap or alcohol-based hand rub (Especially after handling phone & cash).
  3. Avoiding close contact (Keep at least 1-meter distance from people).
  4. Stay at home (if you feel unwell, Contact medical hotline or medical professional).
  5. Fever, cough, or difficulty in breathing? (Seek medical care early ).

Vaccine to prevent from coronavirus is still under development. Scientist around the world working hard to make this happen.
